Rejoice! I say REJOICE all you Central Ohioans! An IHOP in Lancaster has been located and tried out tonight. Sam is officially in Ohio now and continuing with our IHOP tradition in DC, he located one in Lancaster. We ate there tonight and it was delightful. The restaurant is clean, doesn't smell like grease, wait staff is nice, portions large (except for the mini pancakes and those are in fact miniature), and as an added bonus, they offer warm maple syrup in addition to the 4 kinds on the table. I was a very satisfied customer tonight and will be making the 55 minute drive when the need for pancakes strikes me. I suggest you do the same. IHOP remains my favorite restaurant!
*Side note - Welcome to Ohio, Sam!! Glad to have you in this fine cardinal state. Our exploration adventures will now begin...as soon as the current ice storm advisory is finished :)

2 weeks in..
I've been back in Ohio for 2 weeks exactly now and I'm proud to say that I haven't received a single parking ticket, red-light ticket, or speeding ticket! That is quite a feat considering I had about 3 speeding tickets, a handful of parking ones, and a couple red-lights within a matter of weeks after moving to DC. No one told me there were annoying cameras hidden everywhere! It's like they don't trust drivers in our nation's capital! Hmph!
Anyways, I'm enjoying my time settling in and still creating my list of things to do and places to visit for when Sam moves here....which is tomorrow!!!! So, I haven't done anything super exciting to write about. I did however see the biggest raccoon ever this week in my grandparent's backyard! I watched it for quite some time...until I realized I was becoming an old person who watches wildlife out their window :)

Look out Ohio, here I come!
Nothing says welcome home like 6 inches of snow and a day off work! Wohoo! My first week at my new job and already it was a four day week...love it! Bring on more snow :) I'm settling in nicely with my grandparents for the next few weeks until my apartment is ready. Almost feels like I'm on vacation with all the delicious homecooked meals! Winter is one of my favorite times of year...I'm also partial to Spring and Fall....actually, I guess it would be easier to just say I don't like Summer :) I'd rather bundle up in a ski jacket, gloves, and a hat than roast outside in a t-shirt and shorts. So, having this gorgeous winter wonderland - icicles dripping off roof gutters, evergreen branches hanging with snow, and a sparkling white blanket on the ground - is exactly my kind of welcoming!
